An examination of anthropological studies of tribal, rural, and urban cultures of India and a look at changes taking place in India.
- From the Instructor: This course examines issues, debates, and perspectives central to feminist anthropology. It encourages students to think like a feminist anthropologist regarding gender and sex. It examines theories regarding the social construction of gender and sex and how gender and sex is viewed in various cultural contexts, including Indigenous perspectives of gender and sexuality (Two Spirit, multiple genders, masculinity, etc.).
