Introduction to design thinking and the engineering design cycle via a design-build-evaluate-iterate process, resulting in a functional artifact. Students work in groups while learning discipline-specific standards of good engineering practice. Specific project details and disciplines explored vary with instructor. No prerequisites or prior learning required.

Prerequisites

Enrollment is restricted to sophomores and frosh. Seniors and juniors may enroll by permission of the instructor.

  • Enroll in lab and associated discussion section.
  • Class Topic: Intro to Hacking. Introduction to Hacking Competitions is a course centered around introducing students to cybersecurity through a competitive aspect. Students will learn and demonstrate their skills in various cybersecurity categories, with a final project centered around a team based hacking competition. These skills can be transferred to cybersecurity related opportunities and competitions alike and will also boost technical literacy with everyday computer usage. Learners of all experiences are welcome; minimal programming experience recommended but not required
