CSP 292Special Topics in Coastal Science and Policy

Seminar in which students present, discuss, and gain feedback on a current special topic in the interdisciplinary arena of coastal science and policy. The special topic can involve identification of current problems, relevant research and practice, and/or design of solutions in coastal science and policy.

Human Dimensions Research in Coastal and Marine Science This 2-unit course focuses on human dimensions research (HDR) methods and approaches for application to challenges and opportunities in coastal and marine social-ecological systems. Students will be challenged to engage diverse sources of information and ways of knowing, and develop skills for investigating, accounting for and addressing social complexities central to real-world interdisciplinary science and management issues.
