EART 5California Geology
An introduction to physical geology emphasizing the minerals, rocks, volcanoes, mountains, faults, and earthquakes of California. In-class field trips to study the caves, rocks, and landforms of the campus and the Monterey Bay area. Discussion-1 hour. Concurrent enrollment in EART 5L is required for majors and minors.
- Summer Session Note: The Summer Session offering of EART 5 does not include a discussion section. EART 5L is not required for Summer Session enrollment. Students who need the laboratory component for major or minor requirements may complete EART 5L separately in Fall 2026. The Summer Session offering of EART 5 does not include field trips
