EDUC 105Cal Teach: Building Inclusive and Caring Classroom Communities

Provides guided field experiences for prospective teachers to explore how K-12 math and science teachers build inclusive and caring classroom communities at the beginning of the academic year. Internship in a school of 25 hours required. Course addresses equity- and justice-focused theories and teaching practices. Assignments involve close observation and analysis of classroom teaching practices. Prerequisite(s): EDUC 50B, EDUC 50C, EDUC 180, or similar experience. Enrollment by instructor consent. Participants must be accepted to a Cal Teach program and be in good standing. Open to students from other UC campuses. New students should submit intent to participate at calteach.ucsc.edu.
