HISC 273Introduction to STS: Theory, Method, Practice
Taught collaboratively by Prof. Dimitris Papadopoulos, Prof. Maria Puig de la Bellacasa, and other faculty with related interests, course offers an in-depth analysis of key debates within science and technology studies (STS), cultural studies of technoscience, and the history and philosophy of science and technology. Explores the roots of core concepts and examines pertinent debates on truth, objectivity and constructivism/realism. Course involves a critical reflection on methods of research and writing, and an engagement with radical theorizing and transformative practice.
