MATH 50Preparation for Proof
Reading and writing proofs in mathematics. Preparation for theoretical mathematics, and particularly for MATH 100. Close reading of mathematical texts. Development of professional conventions in mathematical writing. Mathematical contexts include geometry, algebra, arithmetic, and discrete mathematics.
Students cannot enroll in MATH 50 if they have previously completed MATH 100, CSE 16, CSE 101, or CSE 101M with a grade of B- or better.
- If you completed the prerequisites but get an error message: If you are taking the prerequisite in Session 1, email summer@ucsc.edu for a permission number anytime after you enroll in the Session 1 course.
