METX 115Environmental Health Science

Addresses challenges related to environmental health, their impact on the health of biological structures, and humans as active elements in the process of environmental degradation, and as passive elements as well. Students discuss events as case studies of environmental health that contributed to environmental protection, and disease control and prevention. Course involves collaborative endeavor in which students develop a group assignment throughout the 10 weeks of the course that is evaluated at the end of the course.

• The instruction for this course is synchronous online, with in-person midterm and final exams. The midterm will be offered from August 12-14, and the final will be offered from August 26-29. Students must take these two exams in person at one of the following UC campuses: UC Santa Cruz, UC Davis, UC San Diego, or UC Irvine. Details on scheduling your exam date and time will be provided by the instructor after enrollment. From the Instructor: Students will develop a teamwork project that consists of creating a podcast about any topic related to environmental health.
