In-depth ethnomusicological studies of selected music cultures of South and Southeast Asia. Emphasizes comparison of historical, theoretical, contextual, and cultural features. Includes basic ethnomusicological points of reference, as regards organology, music ritual, notation and transcription, and aspects of field research.
Prerequisite(s): satisfaction of the Entry Level Writing and Composition requirements; or by permission of the instructor.
