OAKS 50Inner Verse: Exploring Identity Through Writing

Examines the work of contemporary American writers whose work explores identity and social justice, with a particular focus on women writers and writers of color. Students create a portfolio of their own writing in response to weekly creative exercises and critical analysis of the assigned texts. Fulfills the Creative Process GE requirement. The course assignments include generating and workshopping student work in response to weekly prompts as well as interpreting texts in a weekly analytical close reading assignment.
