5 creditsGE CCUndergraduateStudent Option

Examines theatrical traditions and performance practices from cultures inside and outside the United States, emphasizing theater as a reflection of social values, history, belief systems, and artistic expression. Students study one or more global theater traditions in depth and engage in comparative analysis across cultures. Through critical reading, performance-based exploration, and analytical writing, students develop cross-cultural understanding and the ability to interpret cultural expression within local and global contexts. The course prepares students to engage thoughtfully with cultural differences in an increasingly interconnected world.
