PHYS 80CThe Cosmos

5 creditsGE SIUndergraduateStudent Option

Covers the grand picture of the cosmos through a descriptive and interactive presentation on universal origin and cosmological evolution at a level appropriate for non-science majors. Topics such as the building blocks of the cosmos, the fundamental forces, cosmological models, relativity and quantum mechanics are covered at a conceptual level. The course provides an overview of our place within the cosmos, and studies how we have learned what we know about it, and what we are still actively studying using the scientific method.
