SOCY 172Sociology of Social Movements
Through readings on social movements that span the 20th century, course examines the causes of popular mobilizations, their potential for rapid social change, and the theories developed to understand and explain their role in modern social life.
Enrollment is restricted to junior and senior majors, proposed majors, and minors in sociology, digital justice studies (formerly GISES), and Latin American studies/sociology combined majors.
- Class meets in-person on Mondays and Wednesdays. Fridays are asynchronous
