Basic studio exploration through scene problems and exercises of the development of directing principles. Intensive work on the director's pre-rehearsal work from text selection, analysis, and casting. Admission/enrollment by audition or application.   • ENROLLMENT: Students who have passed THEA 40 Intro. to Directing, or who have taken an acting class such as THEA 21 Acting Studio I: Psychological Realism, THEA 121 Acting Studio II: Shakespeare, THEA 124 Movement for Performers, THEA 126 Acting Studio III, THEA 126M Meisner Technique, or an upper division production, such as THEA 151 or THEA 151A, should write to the instructor to share this information and request an enrollment permission number. Students who have not yet taken one of these courses should email the instructor with a brief summary of their past experience in theater and interest in directing before the first day of class.
